Microwave Poached Eggs

Thank you Jamie for this super quick and easy egg recipe!  Half the mess and only a fraction of the time.  You got to love it when user submitted recipes are this good!

Microwave Poached Eggs

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 1 minute

Total Time: 6 minutes

Serving Size: 1


  • 1 large egg
  • 1/8 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • salt and pepper


  1. Add the water and white vinegar to a 6 ounce custard cup (or microwave friendly egg dish).
  2. Break egg into cup, pierce egg yolk with toothpick, and cover dish loosely with plastic wrap.
  3. Microwave for approximately 1 minute (or until desired).
  4. Remove egg from hot water with a slotted spoon (it will continue to cook if you don't).
  5. Salt and pepper to taste, and enjoy.

I like mine on toast!
